Percona XtraDB Cluster 9.7.2-2 (2026-11-02)

A note on MySQL 9.7.3

After a thorough review of the updates included in MySQL 9.7.3, Percona has decided not to release a corresponding Percona Server for MySQL 9.7.3. MySQL 9.7.3 is a Critical Security Patch Update (CSPU) — a targeted security release that Oracle can issue between quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) when needed. The fixes included in this CSPU do not affect Percona Server for MySQL.

Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC) supports critical business applications in both cloud and on-premises environments, including public, private, and hybrid setups. Our free, open source, enterprise-grade solution includes the high availability and security features your business requires to meet your customer expectations and business goals.

Percona XtraDB Cluster 9.7.2-2 is based on Percona Server for MySQL and includes all improvements and bug fixes available in the Percona Server for MySQL 9.7.2-2 (2026-09-28) release notes.

MySQL 9.7.2

Improvements and bug fixes provided by Oracle for MySQL 9.7.2 and included in Percona Server for MySQL are the following:

  • Under certain circumstances, when adding an AUTO_INCREMENT column to an existing table, some records in that table could be skipped, resulting in inaccurate values in the AUTO_INCREMENT column. (Bug #115136, Bug #37105825)

  • During a buffer-pool resize, Adaptive Hash Index could be disabled in mysqld-auto.cnf even though innodb_adaptive_hash_index=ON. (Bug #39157211)

  • Fixed a debug assertion in row_upd_rec_in_place() for non-versioned ROW_FORMAT=REDUNDANT rows. (Bug #39165747)

  • Fixed an issue relating to table maintenance and clean-up. (Bug #39091376)

  • Fixed an issue relating to unique indexes. (Bug #38501299)

Improvement

  • PXC-5106: Sets sql_require_primary_key=1 when using pxc_strict_mode=ENFORCING or MASTER.

  • PXC-5208: Adds the repl.force_sst_after_inconsistency option. When enabled, a node voted out of the cluster because of a data inconsistency removes grastate.dat, so the next start uses a full State Snapshot Transfer (SST) instead of Incremental State Transfer (IST).

Bug fixes

  • PXC-5252: Fixed an issue where clone State Snapshot Transfer (SST) failed when the validate_password component was enabled with a strict policy, because the generated password for mysql.pxc.sst.user did not meet the configured requirements.

  • PXC-5291: Fixed an issue where a user with only the SET_ANY_DEFINER privilege could create a trigger when log_bin_trust_function_creators=0.

  • PXC-5296: Fixed an issue where a server upgrade failed when pxc_strict_mode was ENFORCING or MASTER, because the upgrade could not set sql_require_primary_key=OFF to rebuild system tables that have no primary key.

  • PXC-5305: Fixed an issue where a query could return incorrect results when an internal temporary table was converted from MEMORY to an on-disk InnoDB table during execution.
